WHAT IS FAITH?

As Jesus went into Capernaum, a centurion came up to Him, begging Him for help, and saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, with intense and terrible, tormenting pain.”
Matthew 8:5-6 (AMP)

Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.” But the centurion replied to Him, “Lord, I am not worthy to have You come under my roof, but only say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I also am a man subject to authority of a higher rank, with soldiers subject to me; and I say to one, ‘Go!’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes, and to my slave, ‘Do this!’ and he does it.”
Matthew 8:7-9 (AMP)

When Jesus heard this, He was amazed and said to those who were following Him, “I tell you truthfully, I have not found such great faith as this with anyone in Israel.
Matthew 8:10 (AMP)

Then Jesus got into the boat and started across the lake with His disciples. Suddenly, a fierce storm struck the lake, with waves breaking into the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke Him up, shouting, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”
Matthew 8:23-25 (NLT)

Jesus responded, “Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!” Then He got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm.
Matthew 8:26 (NLT)

What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead.
Hebrews 11:1 (TLB)

WHAT IS A FALSE CHRISTIAN?

They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!
II Timothy 3:5 (NLT)

Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted.
Titus 1:15 (NLT)

Such people clam they know God, but they deny Him by the way they live. They are detestable and disobedient, worthless for doing anything good.
Titus 1:16 (NLT)

‘These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me.’
Matthew 15:8 (NLT)

And I’m not changing my position on this. I’d die before taking your money. I’m giving nobody grounds for lumping me in with those money-grubbing “preachers,” vaunting themselves as something special. They’re a sorry bunch, pseudo-apostles, lying preachers, crooked workers, posing as Christ’s agents but sham to the core. And no wonder! satan does it all the time, dressing up as a beautiful angel of light. So it shouldn’t surprise us when his servants masquerade as servants of God. But they’re not getting by with anything. They’ll pay for it in the end.
II Corinthians 11:12-15 (MSG)

Someone may say, “I am a Christian; I am on my way to heaven; I belong to Christ.” But if he doesn’t do what Christ tells him to, he is a liar.
I John 2:4 (TLB)

If anyone claims, “I am living in the light,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is still living in darkness.
I John 2:9 (NLT)

So if we stay close to Him, obedient to Him, we won’t be sinning either; but as for those who keep on sinning, they should realize this: They sin because they have never really known Him or become His.
I John 3:6 (TLB)

Oh, dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you about this: if you are constantly doing what is good, it is because you are good, even as He is. But if you keep on sinning, it shows that you belong to satan, who since he first began to sin has kept steadily at it. But The Son of God came to destroy these works of the devil. The person who has been born into God’s family does not make a practice of sinning because now God’s Life is in him; so he can’t keep on sinning, for this new life has been born into him and controls him, he has been born again.
I John 3:7-9 (TLB)

So now we can tell who is a child of God and who belongs to satan. Whoever is living a life of sin and doesn’t love his brother shows that he is not in God’s family; for the message to us from the beginning has been that we should love one another.
I John 3:10-11 (TLB)

“Not all who sound religious are really godly people. They may refer to Me as ‘Lord,’ but still won’t get to heaven. For the decisive question is whether they obey My Father in heaven.
Matthew 7:21 (TLB)

At the Judgement, many will tell Me, ‘Lord, Lord, we told others about You and used Your Name to cast out demons and to do many other great miracles.’ But I will reply, ‘You have never been Mine. Go away, for your deeds are evil.’
Matthew 7:22-23 (TLB)

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, (that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior), he is a new creature (reborn and renewed by The Holy Spirit); the old things (the previous moral and spiritual condition) have passed away. Behold, new things have come because spiritual awakening brings a new life.
II Corinthians 5:17 (AMP)

HOW SHOULD WE TREAT EVIL?

The Lord loves those who hate evil; He protects the lives of His people and rescues them from the wicked.
Psalm 97:10 (TLB)

To respect The Lord means to hate evil. I hate pride and boasting, evil lives and hurtful words.

Zechariah 7:10 (NIV)

Abstain from all appearance of evil.
I Thessalonians 5:22 (KJV)

WHAT WILL HEAVEN BE LIKE?

The Holy Writings say, “No eye has ever seen or no ear has ever heard or no mind has ever thought of the wonderful things God has made ready for those who love Him.
I Corinthians 2:9 (NLV)

“In My Father’s House are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”
John 14:2 (NKJV)

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death will not exist any more or mourning, or crying, or pain, for the former things have ceased to exist.”
Revelation 21:4 (NET)

And Jesus replied, “I assure you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”
Luke 23:43 (NLT)

The Angel speaking with me had a gold measuring stick to measure The City, its gates, and its wall. The City was laid out in a perfect square. He measured The City with the measuring stick: twelve thousand stadia, its length, width, and height all equal. Using the standard measure, The Angel measured the thickness of its wall: 144 cubits. The wall as jasper, the color of Glory, and The city was pure gold, translucent as glass. The foundations of The City walls were garnished with every precious gem imaginable: the first foundation jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, the fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eight beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst. The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate a single pearl.
Revelation 21:18-20 (MSG)

The main street of The City was pure gold, translucent as glass. But there was no sign of a Temple, for The Lord God, The Sovereign-Strong, and The Lamb are The Temple. The City doesn’t need sun or moon for light. God’s Glory is its light, the Lamb its lamp! The nations will walk in its light and earth’s kings bring in their splendor. Its gates will never be shut by day, and there won’t be any night. They’ll bring the glory and honor of the nations into The City. Nothing dirty or defiled will get into the City, and no one who defiles or deceives. Only those whose names are written in The Lamb’s Book of Life will get in.
Revelation 21:21-27 (MSG)

ARE YOU ALWAYS MURMURING AND COMPLAINING?

In everything you do, stay away from complaining and arguing.

Don’t grumble about each other, brothers. Are you yourselves above criticism? For see! The Great Judge is coming. He is almost here. Let Him do whatever criticizing must be done.
James 5:9 (TLB)

People ruin their lives with the foolish things they do, and then they blame The Lord for it.

John 6:42-43 (TLB)

WHAT DOES GOD EXPECT OF TRUE BELIEVERS?

“If any man comes to Me and does not have much more love for Me than for his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and even his own life, he cannot be My follower.”
Luke 14:26 (NLV)

Another said, “Yes, Lord, I will come, but first let me ask permission of those at home.” But Jesus told him, “Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God.”
Luke 9:61-62 (TLB)

Then Peter came to Him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!”
Matthew 18:21-22 (NLT)

While He was still talking to the crowd, His mother and brothers showed up. They were outside trying to get a message to Him. Someone told Jesus, “Your mother and brothers are out here, wanting to speak with You.”
Matthew 12:46-47 (MSG)

Jesus didn’t respond directly, but said, “Who do you think My mother and brothers are?” He then stretched out His Hand toward His disciples. “Look closely. These are My mother and brothers. Obedience is thicker than blood. The person who obeys My Heavenly Father’s Will is My brother and sister and mother.”
Matthew 12:48-50 (MSG)

HOW SHOULD BELIEVERS VIEW PHYSICAL DEATH?

And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died, so you will not grieve like people who have no hope.
I Thessalonians 4:13 (NLT)

Precious in the sight of The Lord is the death of His saints.
Psalm 116:15 (ESV)

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s Love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow; not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s Love.
Romans 8:38 (NLT)

No power in the sky above or in the earth below; indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from The Love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

If we live, it’s to honor The Lord. And if we die, it’s to honor The Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to The Lord.
Romans 14:8 (NLT)

But our homeland is in heaven, where our Savior, The Lord Jesus Christ is; and we are looking forward to His return from there.
Phillipians 3:20 (TLB)

When He comes back, He will take these dying bodies of ours and change them into glorious bodies like His Own, using the same mighty power that He will use to conquer all else everywhere.

John 3:16 (CEV)

DO YOU WANT TO BE PITIFUL OR POWERFUL?

In Jerusalem there is a pool with five porches called Bethesda near the sheep gate. Inside these porches lay many sick people. Some were blind. Some could not walk. Some could not move their bodies.
John 5:2-3 (NLV)

An angel of The Lord came at certain times and made the water move. All of them were waiting for it to move. Whoever got in the water first after it was moving was healed of whatever sickness he had.
John 5:4 (NLV)

A man was there who had been sick for thirty-eight years. Jesus said to him, “Would you like to be healed?” The sick man said, “Sir, I have no one to put me in the pool when the water is moving. While I am coming, another one gets in first.”
John 5:5-7 (NLV)

Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your bed and walk.” At once the man was healed and picked up his bed and walked. This happened on The Day of Rest.
John 5:8-9 (NLV)

THINK LYING IS NO BIG DEAL?

The serpent was the craftiest of all the creatures The Lord God had made. So the serpent came to the woman. “Really?” he asked. “None of the fruit in the garden? God says you mustn’t eat any of it?”
Genesis 3:1 (TLB)

“Of course we may eat it,” the woman told him. “It’s only the fruit from the tree at the center of the garden that we are not to eat. God says we mustn’t eat it or even touch it, or we will die.”
Genesis 3:2-3 (TLB)

“That’s a lie!” the serpent hissed. “You’ll not die!”
Genesis 3:4 (TLB)

Your father is the devil. You belong to him. You want to do what he wants. He was a murderer from the beginning. He was always against the truth. There is no truth in him. He is like the lies he tells. Yes, the devil is a liar. He is the father of lies.

I Peter 3:10 (NLT)

Don’t tell lies to each other; it was your old life with all its wickedness that did that sort of thing; now it is dead and gone.
Colossians 3:9 (TLB)

Just as damaging as a madman shooting a deadly weapon is someone who lies to a friend and then says, “I was only joking.”
Proverbs 26:18-19 (NLT)

But The Holy Spirit tell us clearly that in the last times some in the church will turn away from Christ and become eager followers of teachers with devil-inspired ideas. These teachers will tell lies with straight faces and do it so often that their consciences won’t even bother them.
I Timothy 4:1-2 (TLB)

A false witness will not go unpunished and a liar will be destroyed.
Proverbs 19:9 (NLT)

And after selling it, the money was also yours to give away. How could you do a thing like this? You weren’t lying to us but to God!”
